Manifesto

I have been a course representative for the entirety of my undergraduate career and have therefore consistently sought to improve the educational experience of my fellow students. Last year, I was the department representative for Drama, Theatre & Dance, responsible for ensuring that the educational aspirations of all undergraduate students were collated and represented at termly Staff/Student Committee meetings. I also spearheaded the creation of a Ten Point Development Plan, detailing values that we hope to see embodied in our department’s practice in the immediate future and the years to come.

My home department's Ten Point Plan was formulated in response to an appreciative inquiry run by a member of staff into the department’s teaching quality. I would like to conduct similar consultations in other academic departments to see what students enjoy most about studying here. By finding out what students think Royal Holloway does best and building on that, I hope to discern how improvements can be delivered through the creation of long-term development plans as well as short-term goals with visible results during each student’s course of study.

Ultimately, I will endeavour to serve the immediate and long-term needs and aspirations of students at Royal Holloway.
