Manifesto

  • A common-sense approach to the NUS.
  • Vote against all irrelevant, grandstanding, self-defeating polices that do not serve the majority of students.
  • To hold the NUS to account - In 2016, the NUS spent £60,000 on a demonstration without knowing what they were going to demonstrate about. In 2015, the NUS spent £40,000 campaigning against the Liberal Democrats. Passed a motion to abolish prisons. Debated boycotting Coca-Cola and Israel. Saw motions put forward for; the NUS to lobby the UN security Council, legalise an international terrorist group and stop commemorating Holocaust Memorial Day.
  • The NUS should be making students’ lives better: A One-vote-One member rule in the election of the NUS leadership positions. A national push on issues around mental health, providing funding for Student Unions to train all students on how to deal with Mental Health. Uphold freedom to Speech policies across the NUS – the no platform policy must be abolished!
