Jordan Robins

Candidate for Student Trustee

Jordan Robins.

My name is Jordan Robins and I am a first year studying Law. My main focus in life is to ensure that all people are subject to equal treatment, and thus I am nominating myself for the role of Student Trustee in the Student’s Union to have a say in issues that affect everyone on campus. I believe that the years students spend at university should enrich their education, both in their studies and out, and so I am seriously committed to helping the SU to provide a service that benefits all those that use it. I believe that I am the best person for the role because I am an advocate for human rights; in particular women’s rights, and the involvement of people with such views is vital in a charitable organisation such as this one to ensure everyone receives equal opportunities.

However, I also am interested in hearing other people’s thoughts and opinions around what they want out of the SU, and thus would be open to listening to other people’s opinions and reflecting on them. The important fact about the SU is that it stands for students, and therefore I would ensure that student’s opinions would be brought before the Board of Trustees so that it continues to serve those who it exists to represent. also believe that my legal studies mean that I am one of the best people to ensure that the SU complies with the relative laws and regulations that surround the work that they do so that it can continue to run, grow and stand for its members.
