SU Venue

Juicy ft. Shy FX + Stamina MC

Juicy is a regular Friday club night at the SU where you can expect the best of house, chart, and basement tunes throughout the night! Shy FX and Stamina MC join us for the juiciest club night of Freshers' Festival!

Shy FX

Shy FX has quietly been one of the most influential British producers of the last 25 years. From his groundbreaking jungle anthem Original Nuttah, to his timely switch into dubstep, house, and roots reggae in the 00s, to his behind-the-scenes production work for multi-million selling pop RnB acts, Shy’s ability to fuse sound system culture with electronic futurism and classic songwriting has defined the music of successive generations. More recently, his album Raggamuffin SoundTape deftly steps between tempo and styles, encompassing lyrical hip hop, sweet soul, and bass-heavy breakbeat, drawing together the many influences that have kept him at the forefront of dance music for over a quarter of a century.

Stamina MC

Also taking to the SU stage is drum and bass rapper and singer Stamina MC. A multi-talented performer, effortlessly combining the roles of vocalist, host, and MC with a massive stage presence, Stamina’s well-earned reputation speaks for itself. He‘s a touring veteran and lives up to his name, making regular appearances across the globe.

Stamina’s unswerving commitment to drum & bass at a grassroots level sets him apart from the rest and has won the support of a broad base of fans.

Bringing guests to the SU

During Freshers' Festival (15-24 September 2023), no guest tickets will be available for events taking place at the SU Venue. This is to ensure we can maximise the number of new students experiencing our events. Guests are welcome to attend Freshers' Ball on Saturday 23 September, in addition to all events taking place within Medicine and The Packhorse.

Admission

Tickets will guarantee you entry to the event until 11pm, after this time entry will be dependent on venue capacity until last entry at midnight.

Identification

E-tickets are your ticket to the event and you'll need to have this with you to get into the venue. If you have purchased a student ticket, we may ask to see your Student ID Card. As a reminder, you are required to carry your Student ID Card with you whenever you are on campus.

Alongside this, you'll need to bring photographic proof of age ID (driving licence, passport, PASS card) which will be cross-referenced against your enrolment information.

Event tickets

When you purchase a ticket, you'll receive two emails. The first is your receipt of payment - we won't need to see this but you may wish to keep it as it includes your reference number. Your e-ticket will follow as a PDF in a separate email - you'll need to show us this on the door so we can scan you in. We advise you to lock your screen in portrait mode and turn up the brightness to make scanning easier. If you don't have access to a mobile device, we kindly ask that you print your e-ticket.

All sales are final, and refunds are not available on tickets once they have been purchased (including duplicates or purchases made in error, tickets bought for the wrong event or non-attendance due to personal choice, illness or injury).

Transfers

Your Student ID Card and tickets are not transferrable – i.e. you cannot lend it to anyone else to get into the venue.
