The countdown is on to the end of term and the release of 300 Summer Ball early bird tickets at £35 each – less than half the price of a regular ticket – at 9am on Thursday morning.

We’re expecting queues to form early so here’s all the information you need to know ahead of the ticket sale:

1. Be Early But Sensible

Obviously turning up at bang on 9am isn’t the best decision if you want to stand a chance of getting a ticket so being a little early makes more sense. How early is a tough one to call but please be sensible if you plan on joining the queue before 8am and make sure to wear suitable clothing.

2. One Ticket Per Person

Each individual will only be allowed to purchase one £35 ticket. This is to ensure as many students as possible can take up the offer of discounted tickets although you will be able to purchase a full priced £75 ticket alongside a discounted ticket if you wish to do so. When buying your ticket you will need to produce your college card - please note that the discounted tickets are only available for current Royal Holloway students and guests/non-students cannot purchase £35 tickets. Further to this, friends will not be able to purchase a ticket on your behalf even if they have your college card.

3. Grab Some Brekkie

We’ll be providing free fruit and cereal for people in the queue while bacon rolls and coffee will also be available from Tommy’s Kitchen over the course of the morning. If you’re a final year student yet to complete the National Student Survey you’ll be able to claim a free bacon roll from the College’s student ambassadors in return for completing the survey.

4. Purchase Tickets From Tommy’s Kitchen

All tickets will be purchased from Tommy’s Kitchen not the main SU Reception. We’ll have a queuing system in place along with security staff to ensure everything runs smoothly. This will be set up and staffed when Wednesday night’s event ends.

5. Get Cash Before The Day

Due to the limited amount of money held in the on-site ATMs we would advise anyone wishing to pay with cash to withdraw it prior to tickets going on sale. You will be able to pay for tickets by using cash, credit/debit card and your college card.

6. Line-up Announcement

The full line-up for this year’s ball will be announced at midday on Thursday 24 March on the official Summer Ball website. This will coincide with the online launch of full priced tickets on general sale.

7. Make Sure You’ve Opt-ed In

If you’ve opted out of Students’ Union membership in the past then you will be ineligible to purchase a ticket. You can opt back in to membership easily by visiting Student Services in the Windsor Building, please bear in mind that it takes between 24-48 hours for our systems to update. If you have issues logging into your Students’ Union account please contact marketing@su.rhul.ac.uk.

If you have any further questions regarding Thursday’s ticket sales you can contact us on Twitter, Facebook or via email.
