Hello all! Happy SHAG (Sexual Health and Guidance) Week!

We'll be talking about all things sex, breaking the stigma, myth-busting and hearing about your sex-capades! In the words of Justin Timberlake, we really are bringing sexy back.

Let’s be honest, secondary school sex education is hit and miss at the best of times, and that's without the impact of a global pandemic. So, my aim for this week is to educate (and entertain) you and to help our campus community feel more comfortable talking about sex.

SHAG Week is all about confronting taboo topics, getting clued up on STIs (sexually transmitted infections) and running fun events for you to get involved in. We’ve got loads planned from sharing student experiences to a Sexy Pub Quiz at The Packhorse. On Tuesday, come and visit us at the library to talk about sex myths and what we can do to break the taboo of sex. We'll also have plenty of freebies so don’t miss out!

I'm hosting a Consent and Active Bystander Training session to develop your understanding of the importance of sexual consent and how you can use this knowledge to promote a positive culture of consent at our university and beyond.

GET INVOLVED

Whether you fancy writing a blog post or featuring on the SU Instagram account, we'd love to hear your story in our pursuit to normalise talking about sex. Drop me an email to get involved in the campaign.
