The job application process can seem overwhelming especially when you don’t know where to start. Luckily, the University can support you along the way from looking for a job or work experience opportunity to preparing yourself for the world of work.

Unfortunately, many students are unaware of the University's Careers Service or do not fully utilise their support. The Careers Service can help you with each step in the job application cycle. Both current students and graduates up to two years after your graduation can make use of the service!

Getting You Career Ready

The Careers Portal is a one-stop shop for opportunities ranging from graduate schemes to internships. Vacancies are uploaded daily and you can turn on notifications to receive alerts for opportunities of interest. CV and cover letter eLearning courses and other resources are available so that you can hit the ground running with the application process. Once you've completed the first draft of your CV and cover letter, a professional advisor can review it for you and provide feedback. When you're ready, book an appointment with an application advisor.

The Careers Moodle is packed with information on assessment centres from videos to activities and exercises - make sure you try it out! You can also practice online psychometric tests and e-tray exercises.

Interview Prep

The job interview process can be a daunting one but the Careers Service is here with all the tips and tricks you need to succeed. Watch the interview videos on Moodle to follow students through real interview scenarios and get advice from employers. When you actually have an interview coming up, you can book a Practice Interview with the Careers Service by emailing them at careers@rhul.ac.uk
