Committee Meetings.

How to Run

We highly recommend that committee meetings take place one a week. This is to ensure that upcoming events and administration can be spoken about in full, as well as providing an opportunity to catch up on any other business that may have materialised over the week.

We are aware that a lot of committee planning is communicated through social media mediums. However, it is easy for information to be missed within a stream of messages, to which a weekly meeting is a great way to check in with progress of events, as well as socialise as a committee. While differing university schedules mean that not all members of committee may be available every week, all members are expected to display an active attempt to attend regularly, and/or catch up with any action points highlighted within the minutes. Frequent instances where committee members fail to attend scheduled meetings without prior notice may be followed up through a formal process. For more information, or if a committee would like advice or support with any issues, please email vpsocieties@su.rhul.ac.uk.

The agenda should be collated by the Secretary throughout the week, and shared with the committee prior to the meeting. All apologies should be communicated to the secretary in advance of the meeting, and any relevant information/updates/agenda points should be sent for discussion in their absence.
