How do I run for a position?

To nominate yourself, all you have to do is click ‘Stand’, complete the information, and submit your nomination.

Am I eligible to run?

To be eligible to run in the election, you must be a current Royal Holloway undergraduate student in the 2023/24 academic year.

How do I upload a photo and manifesto?

You will be able to upload a photo and manifesto at the point you nominate, you can also do this at any time until 4pm on Monday 1 May. The photo can be added by clicking the 'upload' button and following the steps outlined. The manifesto can be edited by clicking on the edit manifesto button and writing the information as you see fit. Please note there is a maximum word count of 400 words.

When do nominations close?

Nominations close at 23:59 on Sunday 30 April.

When does voting open?

Voting opens at 10:00 on Tuesday 2 May and closes at 12pm (midday) on Thursday 4 May.

When will the results be announced?

Results will be announced at 4pm on Friday 5 May.

What happens if I win?

Results will be announced at 4pm on Friday 5 May.

Where can people vote?

Voting is open from 7-9 March and all votes are cast online through the Students’ Union website.

What is the process if I can't access the voting system?

First of all you need to check that you are a member of the Students’ Union. You can look through our login guide or contact the Assistant Returning Officer at voice@su.rhul.ac.uk.

How do I make a complaint about the elections process?

All complaints are considered by the Students’ Union Elections team. To submit a complaint please complete the online form.
