Candidate for School of Business & Management

Hi, my name is Toby and I am currently a second year Accounting and Finance student. This past year I was your school rep – I undertook this role earlier than normal and I helped design how this year has run.

Over the course of this year as School Rep I have implemented a lot of new things for students that you cannot really see, but, I was able to get more resources for students in terms of recorded lectures and more exam prep, either that be more quizzes or more workshop questions available to you. I have put students in my best interest, and used your voice to create changes throughout the department and supporting your opinions the entire way.

I have also helped develop the new Fairness and Assurance Policy for students this year, giving students what they would like without sacrificing grade integrity. There is a support and safety net for students and one of the ideas was uncapped resists that seemed viable for students who had an outlier result. We have made sure that students receive the support they deserve.

Other than being School Rep this year, I also founded AFM this year to help create a social area for students within the department. Not only this, I have been representing the university in a business challenge in which I lead the team.

I think you should vote for me, as I have had the experience of being a School Rep for a year already and have founded my understanding of how this role works and I will only improve and achieve what students want as time progresses. I aim to achieve a lot as School rep, all centred around student experience. Some of my initiatives include creating internship opportunities for everyone, and organising trips to gain better work experience for after university.
