Candidate for School Rep - Business & Management

In my position as a School Representative for Management at Royal Holloway, I want to ensure that every student's opinion is heard. A top priority would be making sure your time at Royal Holloway is excellent. Problems faced in your academic period would be heard and solved by myself and the Management department. As a School Representative for Management. My manifesto would focus on the following objectives:

  1. Publicising mentorship programmes: Even though many students struggle with tasks like assignments, they are unaware that a mentorship programme is in place. I would use university channels to inform students about this programme, craft a strong argument for why students should take part, and share success stories from past mentors and the beneficial results for both mentors and mentees. Hosting unofficial seminars to entice interested students is also effective.
  2. Supporting diversity in employment prospects: Currently, the university only advertises employment opportunities specific to particular courses, keeping students in the dark. To improve this, I would collaborate with the management department to reach out to more companies to attend the school fairs.
  3. Encourage students to join organisations and clubs and use the opportunities provided by the student union and the university. This is accomplished by encouraging their involvement in those organisations and clubs. Additionally, I'll look for approaches to improve communication between the management department and other departments and student organisations.
  4. Promoting a sense of community: By planning social activities and encouraging community within the management department, I will endeavour to promote a sound and inclusive learning environment for students. Additionally, I'll seek approaches to assist students with difficulties and offer them tools and support so they may succeed.
  5. Providing support for students: Many students can tend to feel homesick especially international students. I would arrange activities to help alleviate this and the stress that they may feel at times.
