Candidate for VP Societies & Sport

Dear fellow students,

As we approach the student union elections, I would like to present my manifesto for the position of sports and society representative.

Firstly, I believe that sports and societies are an integral part of student life, promoting social interaction, physical and mental wellbeing, and personal development. As such, I will work to ensure that students have access to a diverse range of clubs and teams, and that they are supported to achieve their full potential. Sports and Societies will always influence academic performance, and I will ensure my efforts to push students to take an active part in sports and have a higher representation across several societies.

Secondly, I have served as a president of Pakistan Society, I am aware of how societies work and their hurdles. I recognize the importance of inclusivity in sports and societies, and I will work to ensure that everyone can participate, regardless of their background, ability, or identity. I will strive to create a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone feels valued and respected. I would want students to have an easier time in being involved in all societies, especially for international students who have a harder time in feeling included in sport teams and societies.

Thirdly, I understand that sports and societies are not just about fun and games, but also about making a positive impact in our community and promote volunteering, opportunities, and community engagement initiatives, to help students develop their skills, prioritise mental and physical wellbeing, and give back to society.

Finally, I believe that transparency, accountability, and communication are essential for a successful sports and societies program. I will ensure that information is easily accessible, that decisions are made in consultation with students, and that feedback is actively sought and acted upon, and all conditions of the student body is prioritized.

If elected as your sports and society representative, I will be committed to ensuring that our student community thrives and grows through our diverse range of sports and societies. Thank you for considering my manifesto, and I hope to have your support in the upcoming elections. I hope I can return all my claims, and work tirelessly to ensure all expectations from me are met.
