Founder's Building

Freshers' Ball ft. Philip George, AFISHAL and SOAP

We cordially invite you to our headline event of the week, Freshers’ Ball, set in the quad of our beloved Founder’s Building. This is a great chance for you to throw on your ball gowns and black ties for a classy end to the carnage that is known as Freshers’ Festival. Headlined by Philip George and featuring AFISHAL and SOAP, it would be a big mistake to miss out on this special evening.

Philip George burst onto the scene with his stellar debut single 'Wish You Were Mine' back in 2014, peaking at number two in the UK national chart and gaining platinum status.

His second single followed soon, charting at number four, further cementing his place in the world as a uniquely talented young producer, enhanced by a year long spell with his own show on Kiss FM.

Since then he’s been touring globally as a DJ, and now having played some of the worlds biggest and best clubs, he’s back with an infectious and emotional new single.

‘Losing My Mind’ features the indy tinged vocals of Saint Raymond who is perhaps best known for supporting Ed Sheeran on Tour. The instantly memorable melody and hooks will find favour with Philip’s existing fans for sure, but it showcases a more mature string to his bow and is sure to rest easily on the ears of more a discerning audience too.

And back once again to bring his unique live show to Royal Holloway, we're excited to announce that international live DJ, AFISHAL, will be joining headline act Philip George on stage. He is known for his innovative DJ drumming rig and pioneering how DJs perform as we know it. Anticipate an incredible, flashy visual performance with all the best club tunes!

We're not done yet - Royal Holloway's infamous party-makers, SOAP, will also be bringing you a wild and fantastical experience, boasting confetti, decorations and colourful themes.
