Tommy's Kitchen

Coffee House Sessions ft. Benedict Cork

Head down to Tommy's Kitchen as we serve up some freshly brewed music from the UK's most exciting new artists. This week we're joined by Benedict Cork!

Growing up in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, Benedict Cork quickly made the move to London aged just 18 to kick-start his music career. He cut his teeth in piano bars in the city before turning to song writing. His early twenties were spent honing his craft both in and out of bands, spending long days in the studio and nights playing in 5 star hotels and saloon bars.

Early on in 2017, shortly after his 24th birthday and in the space of one afternoon, Benedict left his band of two years, his manager of four years and his partner of three years to embark on a solo project. Leaving London heartbroken and dazed he fled to Stockholm, Sweden to work amongst some of his favourite artists and songwriters, finally finding the calm and clarity to fall in love with making music again.

Now living between London and Stockholm, Benedict has amassed a jaw dropping track record of collaborations, working with the likes of Adam Lambert, MNEK (Beyonce/Madonna), GRADES (Nao/Sinead Harnett), Lucas Nord (Tove Lo), Iain James (Emeli Sande/Anne Marie), Sandro Cavazza (Avicci/Lost Frequencies), Adam Argyle (Dua Lipa/Ella Eyre), Martin Sjølie (Sigrid), Toby Gad (John Legend/Kelly Clarkson) and Josh Record (Ella Henderson), in addition to supporting MØ and AlunaGeorge on tour across the UK.

Sourcing inspiration from pop legends Elton John, Sia and Adele as well as Scandinavian pop, Benedict insists on storytelling in his song writing, allowing personal experiences to shape his music, resulting in powerful and emotion filled works.
