Katy Bates

Katy Bates is a 20 year old singer-songwriter from the South Coast. She is greatly inspired by the likes of Taylor Swift, The Lumineers and First Aid Kit. Her sound is mellow blend of folk, country and pop. So far, her biggest achievements have been performing at The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, singing harmonies on the Blithe Spirit soundtrack and being featured on ABBA’s Instagram for her cover of ‘Voulez-Vous’. When she’s not performing or writing songs, she likes to pottery paint, make jewellery and swim in the ocean in her true mermaid form.

Entry is completely FREE - you can turn up on the night but if you'd like to reserve a table, please email ThePackhorse@su.rhul.ac.uk.

Entry requirements

The Packhorse is open to the general public so everyone is welcome! Simply turn up with your photographic proof of age ID (driving licence, passport, PASS card or government ID).

Due to licensing restrictions, under 18s are not allowed in the bar after 8pm.

Food & Drink service

We're operating a hybrid service model where you’ll be able to order drinks either from the bar or from our contactless ordering system while seated at a table.

Cashless campus

All of our venues are cashless and will remain so in the 2021/22 academic year. We are aware that when starting university, some of you will not yet have a bank account and if you’re an international student, you may not have a UK bank account when you arrive in the UK to study. To facilitate this, all students will be able to top up their College Card account before arriving on campus, using Upay.
