This week we're looking at some fancy ideas that you guys have submitted and have now been passed!
We’ve got a bit of a surprise for you at the SU this week. You’d better prepare yourselves for this one- it’s a brand new weekly update blog for the Bright Ideas platform! Exciting right? It may not sound like the most revolutionary thing in the world, but it’s a super important part of getting your voice out there, and letting us know what changes you think will make student life better at Royal Holloway.
We’ve got a fair few ideas live now, so let’s cover some of the ones that have actually passed, shall we?
Sabbs Ideas- At the start of the term each of your Sabbs submitted an idea for a campaign they want to run. You voted in droves, and threw your weight behind….. improving the health centre! This will now be your Sabbatical officers’ priority campaign for the year, which means it’ll get extra attention, extra work, and a bit of extra cash devoted to it too. We’ll still be running the other campaigns though, so don’t worry!
Elizabeth Line Heathrow Shuttle Bus- We all know that getting to campus from afar can be a bit of a faff at best. An idea that’s really taken off over the last two week is the implementation of a shuttle bus to run from Heathrow to the college, cutting time and saving money in the process. It’s now closed, and we’re going to start investigating some possible options! Keep your eyes peeled for future updates.
Remove the New Speed Bumps/Ramps- Another idea that’s gone past our 50 mark! These new speed bumps have caused some controversy at best, and since it’s gained such traction, we’ll be starting to investigate. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on everything that goes on, so watch out for what’s going on.
Bring your Own Cup and Get a Discount on your Coffee- Sustainability is the word on everyone’s lips lately (okay, well maybe not everyone….) and this idea will not only save you money, but will also help to save the environment! Having just reached the number of votes, we’ll be checking out how Tommy’s might just be able to incorporate this idea!
