How to do it right on Bonfire night

If you don’t want to miss the sparkly performances of London and Surrey’s firework displays or you want something a little different to your usual Bonfire Night antics, then look no further - here is a list of our chosen crème de la crème activities to do this weekend.

Remember remember the fifth of November – a night where the skies light up in tribute to the infamous Guy Fawkes and his attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in 1605.

Kingsmeadow Stadium – November 3

Where: 422a Kingston Road, Norbiton, KT1 3PB

How much: £4 advance, £5 on the door

This event will definitely bring out the party vibes within you, providing a funfair and music provided by Radio Jackie DJs live in the arena before the big display. It is a bit of a trek to get to, nevertheless a recommendation for those who are looking for a change of scenery or are on the quest for a more bustling ambiance

Woking Park – November 4

Where: Kingfield Rd, Woking, GU22 9BA

How much: £5

This annual fireworks display is one of the more popular events in Surrey, equipped with a funfair, you can relive your childish nature to the max. This event is one to attend if you are on the hunt for a more family-friendly atmosphere!

Royal Windsor Racecourse – November 4

Where: Maidenhead Road, Windsor, SL4 5EZ

How much: £12 advanced, £16 on the door

If you want a bit of a magical twist to your bonfire night, then maybe the Royal Windsor Racecourse Firework display is for you. Set to the theme of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, you can expect an evening full of Oompa Loompas and various Willy Wonka wonders to enjoy.

Attendees even get a golden ticket, where five lucky winners will receive £500 cash and a year’s worth of chocolate and sweets from the event partners, Nestle. Just imagine how many VKs you could get with that.

Richmond Firework Display – November 5

Where: Twickenham Road, Richmond, TW9 2SF

How much: £8

This display will be put together by the award-winning Phoenix Fireworks and will be choreographed to various groovy 80s classics, including Eye of the Tiger and I Wanna Dance With Somebody. If you’re into a musically charged firework display coupled with the sight of elderly cutting the dance floor to classics from their youth, then this is the event for you.

It is important to mention that if you do plan on organising your own bonfire night, make sure you do so in a safe manner (so that means making sure your bonfire and fireworks are lit at least 18m away and keeping a bucket of water nearby in case of any emergencies).
