We're excited to announce that we’re opening applications for the next generation of duty managers for the Students’ Union.
So you ask, what exactly is a duty manager, and what do they do? Each year we employ around 15 students in the role of duty manager, which is a key part of the management team responsible for running all our venues and outlets on campus. Ultimately, they take ownership of leading large student staff teams on key function nights.
That’s not all – there are many benefits to becoming a duty manager. You’ll receive a higher rate of pay
When working as a duty manager as student staff, you’ll be able to enjoy a higher rate of pay to match the increased level of responsibility. This means you’ll be earning £10.90 per hour (including holiday pay).
It will enhance out your CV
The development programme provides you with a defined training pathway, so you will be taught to operate in all the trading areas of the organisation. This means you’ll come out of it with loads of experience, having undertaken a number of training shifts, shadow shifts and specific training courses, such as the BIIAB Personal License.
