If you’re reading this, then chances are you already know it’s council season. Which means it’s also time for the one and only Student Opps Council! It’s a great opportunity (if you’ll pardon the pun) to voice your opinion on everything and anything to do with student groups, from sports clubs to societies.
Tell me, why is it important?
Councils are a key part of making sure that we as officers are held accountable, and are an important part of the democratic structure of the union. It’ll be a chance to hear directly from your Sabbs, to get to know what it is they’ve been up to this term, as well as hearing from other student groups on their updates and plans.
We’ll also be taking some time to discuss Student Group elections (it’s just a whole evening of democracy folks), and what it is about them that’s changed.
We’ve got some exciting updates for you this time around too, so be sure to attend to hear more about our various campaigns, and developments on Storage Inn, along with a whole host of other important business. The council will be held on the Thursday 9 November at 6pm, in the Windsor Auditorium. See you there!
