BUCS Round-Up 04/12/19

After another successful week of BUCS action, VP Sport Dom Brown gives us all the details about Wednesday's fixtures.

Here is the penultimate BUCS update before we break up for Christmas! Make sure you keep your eyes peeled for next week’s update, which will be Christmas themed.

Into the results!

The Badminton Men’s 1st team escaped the cold in the Sports Hall and beat their Chichester rivals both home and away! They cruised to a 5-3 victory, moving them up to 2nd in the league. Great stuff guys!

Women’s Football 1st team brought us another stonker of a result as they took on a shell-shocked Goldsmith side. The team sailed to a 7-0 first half, and didn’t take their foot off the brake after half time, as they piled on another 11 goals to win 18-0. Stunning result for the club.

Men’s Football had an impressive clean sweep as all three BUCS teams competed at home and won! The 1st team battled against a strong LSE side on the grass pitch to come out as 4-1 winners. Whilst this was happening, the 2nd Team were competing fiercely against Imperial on the 3G court and bagged three points, winning 3-1. As the sun went down and the floodlights brightened, the 3rd team took on a travelling Essex side, which they brushed aside, winning 6-1. An absolutely great day for the club.

And last but not least, Ultimate Frisbee travelled to Goldsmiths for a wholesome match, which finished 13-2 to the mighty Bears. This was a fantastic result for the team who are on a good run of form!

A massive shout out to Cheerleading, who held their annual ‘Snowcase’ at Strodes last Sunday. All of their teams showed off what they have been working on so far to friends, family and club mates. Next term they go into competition mode so it’s a great marker to see how much they have progressed in the first term.

Like I said, keep an eye out for next week’s Christmassy themed update and as always, well done to everyone who competed!
