As we reach the pivotal point of the season for many clubs, we also have to battle the freezing temperatures that threaten to disrupt the usual flow of fixtures. Luckily, Queen of BUCS – Megan Beddoe – gave the thumbs up for all home fixtures to be played, with facilities given the green light after a moment of panic.

Starting with Men's Football, there was a clean sweep as the 3's & 4's won comfortably in LUSL 10-0 and 4-0 respectively, whilst in BUCS the 1's smashed Chichester 8-1 and the 2's came from behind to beat Middlesex 4-1. Great results all round!

The Indoor Cricket 1’s have progressed to the Super 8s stage in Leicester in two weeks' time after beating Gloucestershire and Cardiff Met at home on Sunday afternoon. Huge congratulations to them and good luck in the Super 8s! The Men's Fencing 1’s dominated their Hertfordshire equivalents this Wednesday by beating them 135-61 - well done boys!

In Netball, the 2s' fought hard in a tightly contested match against Imperial which ended all square, 42-42. The 4’s also claimed victory as the sun set against a fierce Buckinghamshire side.

Men’s Tennis first team smashed Imperial 2’s 12-0 at home whilst the women’s 1st team similarly claimed victory, with a dominant 10-2 victory against Chichester.

Highlight of the week comes from the astro, where the Ladies Hockey 2’s defeated Roehampton 1's to finally secure promotion after two seasons of being "robbed" from it. The girls destroyed their BUCS league this season by winning all of their matches. Congratulations to captain, Holly Wise, and the entire team for sealing this incredible accolade!

With teams progressing further in cup competitions, and with every league game making huge differences, it is important to continue working hard together and fighting for every win. We start preparing for the second Big Bears Wednesday at the end of February where we host a plethora of home games and look to create an even more fantastic atmosphere than usual!

Finally, a quick shout-out to Cheer who are competing this Sunday in Guildford, good luck to the girls!
