Blog: Late Night Lifting

Last year, you told us the gym wasn’t open late enough and that it was too busy right up until close. The Sports Centre has taken this feedback on board and has made the change you wanted.

Last year, you told us the gym wasn’t open late enough and that it was too busy right up until close. The Sports Centre has taken this feedback on board and has made the change you wanted.

The gym is now open until 11pm Monday to Friday for your use. By opening later, it should alleviate some of the pressures on capacity. This means that you won’t have to wait as long for equipment and you get to spend more time training! The new term time opening hours are as follows:

Monday - Friday: 7.00am - 23.00pm

Saturday: 9.00am - 20.00pm

Sunday: 9.00am - 23.00pm

How can I help improve sports at Royal Holloway?

I am running a campaign to get your feedback on all the services the Sports Centre offer and turn these ideas into a reality. Over the coming months, I will be putting out surveys, asking for ideas via the Bright Ideas platform and hosting some events to make your voices heard on this issue. I want to know what you think about:

  • The Gym
  • Facility Hire
  • The Active Programme
  • Customer Service
  • Fitness Classes
  • What you get for your money
  • Marketing/awareness of offer

It’s your sports centre, so it should be your ideas that shape the service provided to you. The plan is to gather feedback and ideas from you to start making student-led changes to the service by term two.

This campaign can only be successful if I have your support, so make sure you look out for more information coming soon on our website and on social media.

In the meantime, make sure you head down to the sports centre, check out the facilities if you’re new to the University and enjoy some late night gymming!

If you have any feedback or questions you would like to ask regarding this, feel free to contact me at via email or Facebook!
