Tell us about yourself

I’m Carmen Anderson, a second-year Drama with Film student. I am from Gibraltar, I love penguins, my favourite colour is blue, and my favourite film is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory; I feel like those are the most important things you need to know about me!

What made you want to become a School Rep?

During my first year, I was a Course Rep, and I absolutely loved this experience; it was great to be able to represent the student voice. Considering how much I loved being a Course Rep when it came to the elections for the School Rep position, I just thought, why not apply? I’m so excited to get started in the role and to work closely with Course Reps and Senior Course Reps to make sure that the student experience in the PDA School is the best it can be.

What are you most looking forward to this academic year?

I am really enjoying running the School of PDA Instagram account, promoting everything I can, from projects taking place in the School, to opportunities within the performing arts societies, to highlighting the successes of our students. I am excited to hopefully implement some changes in the School that will make student life better and a little bit easier. For example, I would love to work on developing an easier way for students to book rehearsal space. I would also like to work closely with the School to ensure students are receiving feedback more timely and to make sure they know that they can always book 121s with their tutors for academic support.

More than anything, I want to be able to take the ideas of students into full consideration. Please do send a message on Instagram or email pdaschoolrep@rhul.ac.uk with any ideas you may have, any concerns, questions etc. Also, as I am Deputy Chair for The Student Workshop, I hope to get as many people in the PDA school involved as possible - if you didn’t already know, if you’re part of the School, you’re already a member, so do join in with our events, workshops, and shows etc!
