Only in this scenario will we allow someone else on the committee (who does not hold one of the other two positions) to come in your place and feedback. This must be prior agreed with the Student Opportunities team by emailing StudentOpportunities@su.rhul.ac.uk. The person attending in your place should sign up via the online link. All the presentations will be uploaded to the website so you’ll also be able to review everything that has been covered during the day.
Due to the number of people we’re expecting with Presidents, Treasurers and Secretaries, we are unfortunately not able to hold any additional students. There will be training sessions for you to attend in September and you’re more than welcome to view the presentations and email the team directly to chat through any points. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas!
Absolutely! We will be covering different content and we encourage all committee members to attend relevant sessions in September. If you’re unable to attend the June session, please email Student Opportunities, check out the PowerPoints online and try and get a member of committee to attend in your place.
The content included in each session is directed at the roles advised to attend the sessions and therefore you’re required to attend the sessions directed to you. However, if only two of the three positions are able to attend training, it would be useful to split committee members across the sessions. Chat to a member of Student Opportunities to see how this is best managed.
Notepad and paper, a laptop is desirable for the Room Bookings and Emails session, plenty of water, your student card and an excitement to learn! There is a 30 minute break during the day to eat lunch. Please feel free to bring your own or pick something up from one of the outlets on campus.
Check that you’re logged into your account on the RHSU website before you attempt to sign up. If you’re still experiencing difficulties, please email StudentOpportunities@su.rhul.ac.uk and a member of the team will get back to you.
We’ll provide everyone at training with an event code to join an online board for you to submit any questions. There is an option to ask them anonymously if you feel more comfortable. A member of the team will be on hand to answer them throughout the day. All of the questions asked during the day will be answered and uploaded to the website to refer to over the summer. If we can’t answer a question straight away, we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. There will also be opportunities to ask questions to session leaders.
There is a huge amount of information on our website where you’ll be able to find key information to answer a wide range of questions. This information will be updated over the summer so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that. If not, feel free to email Helpdesk@su.rhul.ac.uk and we’ll point you in the right direction!
