Speak Week is Back!

From 29 January – 2 February, we'll be asking you ‘what one change would you like to see at Royal Holloway?’ This could be anything from the events on offer to campus facilities and learning resources to academic support and anything in between.

Speak Week 2023

Back in October, you submitted almost 300 responses to the question ‘what’s one thing you would change to improve your first few weeks of term?’ and we looked through every single one to make sure we know what is important to you.

Since then, your Sabbatical Officer team has been working hard to create the changes that you want to see based on the feedback you raised.

VP Wellbeing & Diversity, Nisha, got in touch with Runnymede Foodbank to ask if it would be possible for our advisors in the Advice Centre to become foodbank referrers. They were open to the idea so we set up a meeting and managed to get all our current advisors set up as foodbank refers - they can now refer students in need to a foodbank.

VP Education, Sharanya, took feedback about the Library opening hours to the University and successfully lobbied for more 24-hour study spaces to be available. The Recharge Zone and PC Lab 1 were secured as a result - a big win when it comes to our aim of representing your academic interests!

From 29 January – 2 February, we are back again and this time we want to know ‘What one change would you like to see at Royal Holloway?’ This could be anything from the events on offer to campus facilities and learning resources to academic support and anything in between.

All activities that we carry out as part of Speak Week are open to ALL students. Whether you’re an Academic Rep, Community Officer, member of a student group, media group, or none of the above. This week is for all of you, and we encourage you to take part in any way that you can.

You can get involved by submitting a response through the SU website, replying to a question box on SU Instagram stories or come along and find us out on campus on the following days:

Tue 30 Jan - 11:00-15:00 at Market Day
Thu 1 Feb - 11:00-15:00 at the EWD Building (Library)

Once we’ve gathered all of your thoughts on what you’d like to see change, we will collate all of this feedback which will be taken to your Sabbatical Officers to action and discuss at University level discussions.

If you have any questions feel free to contact voice@su.rhul.ac.uk and a member of the team will be able to help!
