Recruitment

Procedure

Any line managers responsible for student recruitment should first familiarise themselves with the Recruitment Procedure before you go any further. This procedure sets out all the steps involved in the recruitment process; from identifying the vacancy, to writing the job description, the application and interview process, as well as what’s expected in relation to induction and probation. It tells you who is responsible for which element (you or HR) and the timeframes involved in the process.

If you are recruiting student staff then the process is slightly different to permanent staff recruitment as it tends to be much less adhoc and, as such, can be planned well in advance by the Recruitment Coordinator in close collaboration with you.

Before you speak to the Recruitment Coordinator about any student staff recruitment you should first complete the Pre-Recruitment Template.

You should also make sure you have been through the Unconscious Bias online training which is a mandatory part of your induction. If you haven’t completed this training please speak to the HR team.

Pre-Recruitment Document

Complete this before meeting with the Recruitment Coordinator to discuss student staff vacancies.
