Happy Women's History Month!

Throughout March, we'll be celebrating Women's History Month on campus to raise awareness of women's rights and equality.

This year's Women's History Month campaign focuses on "Celebrating women who tell our stories". We want to highlight the achievements of women from all walks of life, from students to activists, artists, and academics, both in the past and in the present, through a variety of events and spaces.

There'll be plenty of chances to come together to celebrate WHM. We're heading to The Packhorse for a classic Pub Quiz to test our knowledge on some WHM trivia - time to brush up! We're inviting influential speaker, Marian Adejokun and inspiring Royal Holloway academics Sarah Ansari (Professor, Department of History), and Weipin Tsai (Senior Lecturer, Department of History) for a panel discussion. Come along to chat and get your questions answered!

International Women's Day brings a Self-Expression Social to the Students' Union to give you the chance to meet other students and create some art of your own! If that wasn't enough, you can look forward to a live art workshop led by award-winning artist Ally Zlatar, and a library exhibition of student artwork at the end of the month!

We're looking for students to submit blogs, poetry, literature, creative writing pieces, physical art, digital prints, and anything else you can think of for the exhibition! If you'd like your work to be featured, simply complete our form

Words for Women

Do you know a woman who deserves to be recognised for going above and beyond on campus? We want to hear about them! Anonymously nominate your friends, coursemates, or housemates with our form, so that we can share the achievements of extraordinary women on campus.

Outside of our calendar, keep an eye out for events hosted by South East Asian Society, 93% Club, Politics and International Relations Society, Debating Society, and others!

Get involved

Check out the events and blogs below to find out how you can get involved and keep an eye on our social media @SURHUL where we'll be sharing various resources and celebrating women on campus and around the world.
