Welcome to your Elections hub! Here you’ll find key information about the upcoming elections happening within your Union, and how you can get involved.

Whether you’re voting for your student group committee or electing the new sabbatical officers who lead the SU, make sure you exercise your right to vote and get your voice heard.

Union Council Rep Elections

 

The elected Sports and Society/Media Representative will be required to attend 5 compulsory Union Council meetings throughout the duration of the academic year, as well as attending relevant Policy Forums to meaningfully contribute feedback and student voice.

The two elected Reps will provide a key voice on behalf of all Sports and Society/Media members, as well as sharing their insight and knowledge around this area of the student experience.

Nominations open 10:00 on Friday 18 September and close 23:59 on Friday 16 October.

How to stand

Autumn Elections 2026

This election will fill positions for our remaining Community Officers, who represent underrepresented groups of students on campus, and our remaining Department Reps, who will work alongside the VP Education to support academic representation. This election will also fill any remaining Student Group positions and introduce Union Council to the student body, with students electing their representatives.

  • 12 posts are up for election.
  • Nominations close at 23:59 on Friday 16 October 2026 (in 12 days)
  • The polls open at 10:00 on Tuesday 20 October 2026 (in 15 days)

Nominations open 10:00 on Friday 18 September and close 23:59 on Friday 16 October.

To nominate yourself, all you have to do is click ‘Stand’, complete the information, and submit your nomination.

There are two positions available: one Sports Representative and one Societies/Media Representative.

You must also be enrolled as a student in the 2026/27 academic year.
