Give It a Go

If you’re looking to develop a new skill, flex your creative muscles, or simply unwind after a day of lectures, you’ll find something in our calendar of Give It A Go events.

These are smaller-scale events that are predominantly alcohol-free and focused on you meeting new people in a fun, relaxed and welcoming environment. Some highlights from Freshers' Festival include our Board Games Night, a Petting Zoo, a Trip to IKEA and loads more!

So whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, culture vulture or just love a bit of art and craft, we'll have something for you.

Identification

E-tickets are your ticket to the event and you'll need to have this with you to get into the venue. If you have purchased a student ticket, we may ask to see your Student ID Card*.

Alongside this, you'll need to bring photographic proof of age ID (driving licence, passport, PASS card) which will be cross-referenced against your enrolment information.

*It’s a requirement to have your Student ID Card with you when you attend Students’ Union events and we’ll ask to see this when you enter our venues. However, during the first two weeks of term, we know that the process and production of Student ID Cards can take time which may mean you don’t have yours for the start of Freshers’ Festival.

Love Yourself Week

Welcome to Love Yourself Week, a weeklong campaign from February 10-14, dedicated to helping you prioritize self-love, self-care, and mental wellbeing. University life can be demanding, and with the pressures of classes, exams, and daily life, it’s easy to overlook taking care of yourself. This week encourages everyone to pause, reflect, and prioritize self-care through empowering events designed to support and uplift. Love Yourself Week provides the perfect opportunity to embrace all aspects of self-love.
