Athletics

Welcome to the home of Track and Field, and Cross Country at Royal Holloway!

Royal Holloway Athletics provides an inclusive atmosphere with no try-outs, but plenty of opportunities to compete and train to the level that you would like.

Our weekly schedule has something for everyone, with dedicated training groups across each event in athletics. We also offer a social side of the club with regular off-track activities including regular Wednesday night socials for drinkers and non-drinkers.

Over the course of the year our members can expect:

  • On-campus training on Mondays and Thursdays, for all members.
  • Explore the local area on our Saturday group runs!
  • Competitive training at Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Monday evenings (for field athletes & sprinters) and Wednesday afternoons.
  • Girls Run Club - a free women's only group run followed by coffee on Sunday mornings.
  • Regular socials including karaoke, themed costume parties, Christmas meals, pub crawls, awards nights, start & end-of-year barbecue and more!
  • Opportunities to compete in the London-wide LUCA competitions, national BUCS championships and other races like cross country and road relays.
  • Strength and conditioning sessions for select athletes.
  • Group trips into London for organised runs and volunteering.
  • Travel to competitions around the country in places such as Oxford and Sheffield.
  • Finally, we want to assure you that we will provide a safe and risk-free environment for all members to train. We have registered first aiders on our committee.
