PIR: Politics and International Relations

About us
Hello and welcome to Royal Holloway’s Politics and International Relations Society!
PIRSoc is a great way to get active on campus – from social nights to panel talks, we host a range of events throughout the year to help you meet like-minded students and gain skills for your future careers.
From jet setting to New York to participate in an annual diplomatic conference, and practising diplomacy in the heart of London, to watching politically inspired films of an evening and hosting prestigious talks and debates – there is truly something for everyone.
Regardless of what department you study in, you are welcome – many of our members aren't politics students!
Membership
PIRSoc is an academic and social society, run by students, with close links to the PIR Department at Royal Holloway. We strive to provide a variety of academic and social events, with the hope that all our members feel included and engaged.
Purchasing a membership to our society will give you access to all of our various events, trips, and activities! The society arranges a series of academic events throughout the year including keynote speakers, panel discussions and seminars.
We further organise events looking at giving opportunities for students to work on developing their professional pursuits and abilities. Though we work hard, we play even harder!
PIRSoc hosts a range of social events from screening films or going to the pub to more upscale events such as dinners, Society Balls, and the famous PIR Boat Party!
