Cheerleading and Dance

Hi Lovely Bears!!

We are a dedicated Cheerleading and Dance team taking our love for the sport to national competitions around the country, sharing our skills and team spirit year after year.

Everyone is welcome to come and give it a try, no cheerleading or dance experience needed! With a Level 2 team, a Level 1 tumble team, three stunt teams, a performance team, plus jazz and hip hop dance teams, there’s something for everyone, no matter your size, age, gender, or background.

Not looking to compete? Join our Performance Team instead! They bring the energy on matchdays, and spectacular half-time performances for Royal Holloway’s sports teams, creating a fun and supportive atmosphere. Every appearance feels like a mini social and a great way to meet people from across the university.

From sweaty training sessions to sparkle-filled competitions, we mix hard work with plenty of fun — that’s the #RHULBEARS way.

Competitions

We don’t just train, we compete! Our teams take the floor at national competitions across the country, following USASF rules and guidelines. Every year, we showcase our talent at Future Cheer University Nationals and this year we are proud to announce we will be attending the British Cheer Association University Nationals. These are huge highlights of our season, full of adrenaline, teamwork, and unforgettable moments.

Training Times

Our training schedule is built to fit around university life, with sessions held in the afternoons, evenings, or at weekends so they won’t clash with lectures. We usually train at a fantastic local facility with full 9-panel mats, giving us plenty of space to stunt, tumble and perfect routines. A couple of times each term, we’re also lucky enough to train at a nearby club with a sprung floor. This is an amazing opportunity to push skills even further. And when training isn’t on campus, transport is always arranged to make sure every member can attend.

Give It A Go

We really hope you 'give it a go' and come and try something new! Cheer and Dance is hard work- harder than people think. We can promise you that you will fall in love with it just like we have and cannot wait for you to join our Cheer and Dance family. Most of us have made our favourite memories of university, here in this club <3
