Cycling

ABOUT US

Cycling is a newer addition to the Royal Holloway Sports catalogue, being formed a few years ago.  Cycling has quickly become a valued club with members as a result of its close community atmosphere and varied opportunities.

Royal Holloway Cycling prides itself on inclusivity, we offer rides for all abilties, and all disciplines.  This year we are aiming to provide two Sunday rides for differing abilities, with the option for a mid-week training ride or fitness session.  As a result, Cycling is perfect for those who just want to ride for fun, gain fitness or compete in a variety of events across multiple disciplines.

MEMBERSHIP

For 2024 / 2025, we are offering two levels of membership:

1. A new 'social' membership for £30 per year. This is a 'non-competitive' membership that will give you access to all the social events we put on throughout the year.  In addition, the social membership provides:

  • The ability to compete in competitions like varsity
  • The ability to stand and vote in elections & by-elections to decide the current and future committees running the club

2. The 'standard' or 'competitive' membership for £60 per year. This will give you access to all the above plus access to all the rides that we offer per week - for 2024 / 25 this is going to be a mid-week fitness session or training ride, one of the two Sunday rides that we offer for different abilities, plus the weekly the mtb ride.  The standard membership also includes the ability to compete for the university at potentially national level in any cycling discipline (including road, time-trial, enduro or downhill) at any ability level.  The standard membership provides the opportunity for riders who want to level-up their cycling and compete, even if only for the first time, in British Cycling and / or BUCS events.  As a competitive member you will also get exclusive access to all the ride profiles created by our committee for you to do in your own time.

KIT

Royal Holloway Cycling is excited to offer, for the first time, cycling kit for riders to train and compete in.  We are currently working on this and hope to offer this to members from Christmas 2024!
