2018/19

LOBBY THE COLLEGE TO INSTALL SOLAR PANELS ON THE ROOFS OF HALLS!

  • The College is drafting a Sustainability Strategy
  • We have been approached to be stakeholders to contribute to the draft over the next month or so before College Executive approve it
  • Plans for solar and renewable power energy generation will form part of this strategy.

ZERO TOLERANCE ON HATE CRIME AND SEXUAL ASSAULT

  • Updates to come!

MALE MENTAL HEALTH CAMPAIGN

  • Planning is currently underway for this campaign, set to happen between the 25th of February and the 1st of March.
  • Events will include a panel discussion, sports day, and a LAN party.

DISABILITY SPORTS DAY

  • We'll be holding Disability Sports Day as part of our Disability Awareness Week, which will include a variety of sports to get involved in, including Goalball!
  • Disability Sports Dat will be held on Saturday 9 February.

BUSES TO LEAVE EVERY 30 MINUTES FROM EGHAM STATION TO CAMPUS IN EVENINGS

BRAILLE LABELS ON TOILET DOORS AROUND CAMPUS

  • We've met with the head of Disabilitiy and Dyslexia services, who will now be helping us to explore options.
  • Conversations are underway with the estates team, who would be responsible for installing the signs.

2017/18


INTRODUCE A SEXUAL ASSAULT REPORTING FORM AND HOST SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS WEEK ON CAMPUS

  • The college i currently working on an anonymised reporting platform for all students to use.
  • Sexual Assault Awareness Week, the "One in Three" campaign was held from the 22nd to the 26th of February and was a fantastic success.

LOBBY THE COLLEGE TO DIVEST FOSSIL FUELS

  • Research into policies is underway
  • Clem Jones to present idea and strategy to college
  • Multiple other sustainability projects are underway, including the coffee cup discount, bike racks, and sustainable cups

LOBBY THE COLLEGE TO LIBERATE THEIR CURRICULA

  • The Liberate Our Curriculum campaign was launched following the Women of Colour Collective's "Why is My Curriculum White?" panel discussion
  • Tasha Barrett has presented to Academic Board
  • A working group has been established

REMOVE THE NEW SPEED BUMPS/RAMPS

  • An investigation into how we can best help commuting students is underway!

ADDITIONAL PARKING ON CAMPUS

  • The issue was brough up at College/SU Executive meeting on 05/03/18, and we are awaiting a response

LOBBY SWR AND TFL TO EXTEND OYSTER TO EGHAM

  • Letters to SWR and TFL has been sent, you can watch the video here!

CCTV IN THE LIBRARY!

  • This idea was brought up during the Library Users Advisory Group, however was rejected by the college
  • Further investigation is underway to examine other possibilities
