Advice Centre Drop-ins

Following increased demand from students, we will now be holding academic drop-ins at the Advice Centre every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday of Term Two, to help you with queries relating to your degree, your housing situation or anything else that you think you might need us for. Below is a list of everything we can help you with at the drop-ins!

Simply pop along to the Advice Centre to see an advisor. If both advisors’ doors are closed, please take a seat in the waiting room and wait to be seen.

Housing

  • Help and advice about looking for housing
  • Free contract checking - you shouldn’t pay for or sign anything before using this service. However, if you have, you should still get the contract checked so you know what your rights and obligations are and you’re clear about how to get your deposit back without unfair charges
  • Guidance for dealing with problems in your rented home
  • Support and advice through housemate disputes
  • Advice about leaving your tenancy early

Academic

  • Help and advice about problems with your course
  • Guidance for dealing with problems affecting your course
  • Advice around Academic Misconduct
  • Support and advice through appeals and complaints
  • Advice about Interruption or Withdrawal

If you’re unable to make it to a drop-in, simply email advice@su.rhul.ac.uk with your query and an advisor will be in touch to help you soon. You can also look through our Advice Centre pages for general information.

The Advice Centre is located on the first floor of the SU building. If you haven’t already, make sure you pop in and help yourselves to some of the freebies and useful leaflets in our waiting room.
