Disability Careers Support Day: Employability Workshop

Simon Mantel from the University Careers service will give you some tips for applying for jobs if you have a disability or additional needs.

Navigating the job and internship application process can be extra challenging for students/graduates with a disability or additional needs.

This session will show you how to:

Identify employers who have a positive attitude to diversity and will welcome your applications.
Decide whether to disclose your disability/difference to a potential employer.
Communicate your disability/difference to an employer in a way that enables you to position it as an asset.
Request adjustments to application processes so you have the greatest chance of success.
During the session, you will get the chance to write a disclosure statement.
