MTS: Sweet Charity, Sunday Matinée

“Sweet Charity” is a classic, 1960s Jazzy musical bursting with life, love and colour. Following the journey and misadventures of hopeless romantic, Charity Hope Valentine, the story catapults through the beautiful chaos of New York City in a time of music, love and technicolour dreams! Featuring classic musical theatre hits - “Big Spender”, “The Rhythm of Life”, “If My Friends Could See Me Now” & more - from the depths of the dingy Fandango Ballroom to the glamorous Pompeii Club, Charity, an ordinary taxi dancer, finds herself wining and dining with famous movie stars, trapped in elevators with the awkward yet charming, Oscar Lindquist, all whilst confiding in her best friends Nickie and Helene. Come along to follow the dreams of a girl living for the hope of being loved, in a city that seems out to get her. From the hippie congregations to the ballroom dancers, there’s a place for everyone in the colourful world of “Sweet Charity”! “Without love, life has no purpose”
