Frequently asked questions.

Your top questions, compiled into one handy list.

How do I buy a ticket for an event?

All tickets can be purchased through the Students’ Union website or at the Union Helpdesk. For events which do not have tickets associated with them, please just arrive at the event with your College card/student ID and proof of age ID.

What ID do I need to bring with me?

Please bring your College card and proof of age ID.

I've changed my mind or can no longer attend. Can I get a refund/transfer my ticket?

All tickets once sold are non-refundable in all circumstances except where the event is cancelled by RHSU.

You may be able to transfer your ticket to another student by emailing giveitago@su.rhul.ac.uk at least three working days before the event with the full name of the student you wish to transfer to. This will be at the discretion of the Events & Give It A Go Coordinator, and will not be authorised until an email has been sent to you confirming this.

What should I wear to the event/trip?

Give It A Go covers a wide range of events, activities and trips at different times of the year. Therefore, we would suggest you dress accordingly. Where necessary, bring layers, a wet jacket and wear sensible shoes. It’s also wise to bring a bottle of water with you.

If an activity requires you to wear specific clothing, this will be outlined in the event description on the Students’ Union website.

What happens if it rains?

Assume the trip or event will go ahead unless we tell you otherwise (we'll send an email to all ticket holders in the event that we need to cancel an event). We'll cancel the trip or event if adverse weather conditions could risk its safety. A full refund and/or options to reschedule will become available shortly after. The presence of rain, wind or unpleasant weather conditions will not automatically entitle participants to a refund.

What if I'm late for a trip?

Students must arrive on time at the meeting point or the transport may leave without them. This is the case both leaving and returning. If you're not going to make the transport on time, you will need to call 07376738116 and speak to the event leader who will make the final decision. If you miss the transport, you need to make your own way there/back. No refund will be issued if you miss the transport.

What if I lose something on a trip?

We advise against you taking expensive or sentimental belongings on any trips. Anything you choose to bring with you is your responsibility, and RHSU cannot be held liable or responsible for any lost property.

What if I misbehave?

We're pretty laid back, but all participants must observe the authority of the event leader and follow all reasonable instructions. Our staff and guides are there to help. Failure to adhere to instructions given by RHSU staff and guides may trigger the Union's disciplinary procedure.

Will there be photography/video taken during an event?

Filming, photography and broadcasting may take place during events organised by Royal Holloway Students' Union. All persons at these events give their express consent to the use of their actual or simulated likeness and voice in connection with the production, exploitation and advertising of the event without compensation or credit. Many of these images are used for promotional purposes such as appearing on the Students' Union website and social media channels. If you do not wish to be included in any photographs and would like your photo/footage removed please contact marketing@su.rhul.ac.uk

I've got a great idea for an event. Who should I tell?

Great! Please email giveitago@su.rhul.ac.uk with as much detail as possible about your idea.

How do I give feedback on an event I attended?

Please email all comments to giveitago@su.rhul.ac.uk.
