Deputy Finance Manager
35 hours per week (excluding one hour unpaid lunch break per day)
20 days annual leave rising by 1 day per calendar year (maximum of 5 additional), as well as 9 discretionary days over Christmas and Easter
Students’ Union Royal Holloway, University of London is the representative body for students of Royal Holloway, University of London and provides wide-ranging services for its members based at the Egham campus. The Union is a charity with annual revenues of £2.3million, career staff of 35, approximately 200 student staff and 500+ active volunteers. Our services range from a welfare advice centre to 100 sports clubs and societies, a night club and an accommodation letting service.
We are seeking a motivated individual with experience of working in a finance position to support the Finance Manager in the strategic and operational running of the finance office; including supporting the production of management accounts; reviewing and delivering effective financial processes; the administration of the sales and purchase ledgers; and deputising for the Finance Manager where required.
The Deputy Finance Manager post is a new position to the organisation and comes at a time of exciting strategic change and growth following the recruitment of a new Chief Executive Officer.
The position would ideally suit an individual who is looking to broaden their financial experience or looking for the next step in their career in finance. We are seeking individuals with excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong practical knowledge of accruals accounting, experience of SAGE accounting (or similar) and relevant experience of the operations and processes of a Finance department.
