Blog: Royal Holloway Netball Club's Highlights Of The Year

Georgie Cole, President of Royal Holloway Club, gives us their highlights this term, from their outstanding match performances, all the way to their new and improved socials.

Match Results:

All of Netball’s squads have been working really hard during training this term, which has been reflected by the fantastic results of our 3rd and 4th team in particular who are both in 3rd place in their BUCS leagues. A special mention to the 3rd team, for reaching an outstanding score of 92-3 in one of their LUSL matches earlier on this season. This truly is a fantastic score and we are very proud of the girls for achieving this. Keep up the success next season everyone!

Charity:

This term, our primary charity fundraiser has been the Big Sleep Out which saw nine of our girls spend the night sleeping in cardboard boxes to raise money for Trinity Homeless Projects. We are proud to announce that on this occasion, over £750 was raised for this fantastic cause, raising awareness for homelessness in the UK! We have some new and exciting projects being planned for next term, in the hope to keep raising money for new charities!

Socials:

This year, we have made a change to the way we have run Netball socials and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results! Every Wednesday we have taken over Medicine and held some very entertaining fancy dress socials such as Famous Duos, Under the Sea and Noah’s Ark to name just a few. This has all been thanks to the hard work of our Social Sec (Phoebe Spooner) and we can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us next term!
