Should I get a Freshers' wristband?

Want to learn more about our Freshers' wristbands and term passes and what they offer?

Amongst the constant socialising, day events and late nights, there is a lot to be done at Royal Holloway’s Freshers’ Festival.

So in light of this, we’re giving you the option of purchase two different types of wristbands: Silver (£50) and Gold (£65). Having a wristband will give you access to all of the events (excluding Freshers’ Ball if you have a silver wristband) and special benefits.

You can find out how the wristbands work out value-wise on the tickets section of the Freshers’ website. Here’s some reasons as to why it would be a mistake to miss out on this great offer:

It makes sure you don’t miss out on any of the events

We understand that FOMO is real (fear of missing out) and Freshers’ Festival is an important time that emphasises the importance of play. It should be worry-free for you.

You can enjoy the range of free day events throughout Freshers' Festival, but having a wristband is perfect for the transition into the late-night events. With only a limited number of individual online tickets on sale for each of the late-night events, having a wristband ensures you don’t miss out on anything and allows you to get to know your flatmates better and meet lots of new people.

With over 32 events happening during the first week of term, including a colour run, a beach party (with hot tubs may we add) and the fancy Freshers’ ball. We want to ensure you get the best Freshers’ experience for you to cherish.

They give you special benefits too

As a Students’ Union, we want you to get full value for money. So we’re giving a £20 discount off the annual Gold Royal Holloway Sports membership, free access to all group exercise classes and free drop-in gym use during Freshers’ for all silver and gold wristband owners.

We’re not even done yet - having a wristband also entitles you to a one-off 50% discount to your food bill at the Packhorse or Tommy’s Kitchen and £5 off when you spend over £25 at the Union shop. Pretty great, right?

Introducing Term Passes

This year, we’re introducing a new scheme that allows you to add on all Wednesday or Friday club nights (£90 for either) into your wristband, or even both nights out (£130).

We know that students have previously said that our late-night tickets were a bit too pricey, and so you said and we did. It's great because it work out much cheaper for you guys in the long run, with the individual ticket costing £4 if you purchase a term pass.

This also means you’re guaranteed entry to the late-night events throughout the term without any worry, whether it be CIYK or AbFilth.
