Hello from your New Sabb Team!

 The Students’ Union sabbatical team is made up of:

 
            The President
            Vice President (Education and Welfare)
            Vice President (Communications and Campaigns)
            Vice President (Student Activities)
 
They were elected by a cross campus ballot in February 2010 and are responsible for the representation of Royal Holloway students until 31st July 2011.
 
The President for 2010-2011 is Rachel Pearson. Rachel graduated from Royal Holloway in history, in July 2010. Whilst at university she was First Year Representative of the Drama Society (07-08); President of the Drama Society (08-09) and Societies Officer on the Executive Committee (09-10). She is most looking forward to appointing a Trustee Board and launching the Strategic Development Business Plan for the Students’ Union in order to further its development this year.
 
The Vice President (Education and Welfare) for 2010-2011 is Beth Rowley. Beth graduated in English Literature, in July 2010. During her time at Royal Holloway Beth has been a cox for the Boat Club and member of the Savoy Opera Society. She was elected Deputy Editor of the Orbital publication (08-09) and was appointed as the Community Action Volunteering Support Worker (09-10). Beth is most looking forward to launching the brand new “Love your Neighbour” campaign in October, which aims to encourage good relations between students and the local community.
 
The Vice President (Communications and Campaigns) for 2010-2011 is Sarah Rahman. Sarah graduated in Media Arts, in July 2010. Sarah is an international student, with dual citizenship from Sri Lanka and Canada and was elected International Students’ Officer on the Union’s Executive Committee for 2009-2010. Sarah has designed all of the Freshers’ Week publicity for the Students’ Union, including the wall planner and almanac. This year she is most looking forward to coordinating One World Week, in March 2011.
 
The Vice President (Student Activities) for 2010-2011 is Victor Nicolaou Garcia. Victor is a half Spanish and half Cypriot EU student. Victor graduated in Management with Accounting, in July 2010. While studying his final year Victor was Treasurer of the Management Society and Captain of the Football Club’s 6th team. Victor is looking forward to organising the Freshers’ Fayre, club trials and society taster days. He also wants to secure lots of BUCS points! And increase participation in sporting events.
