When it comes to The Packhorse, we know you love 241 Tuesdays, Transmission Thursdays and getting your regular food and drinks fix. But one thing we can all agree on is that we don’t like the stuffy meeting rooms upstairs!
If you were one of the many people in The Packhorse over the summer, catching up with friends, or maybe even waiting for it to come home, then you, along with multiple other students, community residents and staff members, will have noticed just how hot it was in the upstairs meeting rooms.
Everyone who experienced these rooms made it clear just how uncomfortably hot they were. This feedback was taken on board and there was only one solution - to fit the meeting rooms with air conditioning units.
The first unit in meeting room two was fitted on the 22 August, and meeting room three will be fitted on 6 September, just in time for the start of term and Freshers’ Festival.
Holly Hughes, VP Societies & Media, was delighted with the news: “In making these changes over summer, we hope that the space will now be much more comfortable for groups to use, be that for committee meetings, debates, pizza nights or any other events you can think of. We can’t wait to see how you use this improved space over the year!”
