Blog: Enactus Take Home Multiple Awards At The National Expo

Alice Scott, Events Director for Enactus Royal Holloway, gives us an insight to their successful evening at the 2018 Enactus UK National Expo, where they took home multiple awards including winning the Development League.

Enactus Royal Holloway had the chance to compete in the Development League this year against UEA, York and Bangor, presenting the development of the team over the past year, as well as one of our projects E-fugee, which aims to help teach Refugees in Slough key skills.

As a result of the teams hard work over the past year, Enactus RHUL were crowned the winners of the Development League, and gained an additional award as "The Most Developed Team of 2017/18”.

Once a year a select group of business, student, and academic leaders from across the country gather together to showcase how entrepreneurial action and shared innovation is transforming lives and creating a better future.

he 2018 Enactus UK National Expo brought together the 59 University Enactus teams who presented and showcased the enterprises that they have pioneered over the last 12 months.

Each competition is an exciting opportunity for the students to demonstrate how they have harnessed business principles alongside social action in a bid to help change the world and improve lives.

The successes continued on day two of the UK Expo, and Royal Bikes were successful in winning The Commercial Innovation Challenge gaining £500 for their project, following the success of the recent Entrepreneurship awards held by RHUL Enterprise Hub.

The team's Corporate Relations Executive (CRE), Marco Benedettelli, obtained two individual awards, coming third place in the Enterprise Rent and Car CRE Individual Topic Competition and winning the Kelly OCG STEM Leader of the Future Individual Topic Competition.

The Committee would like to give a special thanks to all Enactus RHUL members, business and university advisors, RHUL School of Management and the Students' Union as this would not have been possible without all of their support.
