Budget To Bite: Campaign Overview

For so many of us, cooking feels overwhelming. The planning, the cost, the time and it can all add up fast, and suddenly the easiest option is skipping meals or grabbing something quick that doesn’t always leave us feeling great. Budget to Bite was created to change that narrative.

For so many of us, cooking feels overwhelming. The planning, the cost, the time and it can all add up fast, and suddenly the easiest option is skipping meals or grabbing something quick that doesn’t always leave us feeling great. Budget to Bite was created to change that narrative.

This campaign is all about showing that good food doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. With the right tips, a bit of creativity, and a supportive community, eating well can actually be fun.

Why Budget to Bite?

Budget to Bite sits at the intersection of finance, health, life skills, and personal development, while also creating space for honest conversations around food hardship and food poverty. We want to raise awareness, but more importantly, we want to offer practical solutions.

We’re here to prove that:

  • You don’t need a big budget to eat well.

  • Cooking doesn’t have to be stressful.

  • Small changes can build confidence in the kitchen.

  • Food can bring people together.

From meal planning to mindful eating, this campaign turns kitchen chaos into confidence. It’s about learning how to stretch a food shop, boost your health, and still afford the snacks.

What’s Happening?

SU on Tour

We’ll be giving out seasoning sachets, a small but powerful reminder that flavour doesn’t have to cost a lot, and simple ingredients can still make exciting meals.

Nibble and Paint

A chilled creative session where you can paint cute canvases while snacking. No pressure, no skills required, just vibes, food, and creativity.

Grub Crawl

We’ll explore Market Day and different food outlets across campus, highlighting affordable options and showing how to make the most of what’s already around us.

Coffee Morning

A cosy, low-key morning to meet new people, enjoy a hot drink, and snack on biscuits. Sometimes, food is just about comfort and connection.

Community Potluck (Ramadan Campaign Collaboration)

The highlight of Budget to Bite. This potluck is open to everyone and invites us to come together, share food, and share stories. In collaboration with the Ramadan Campaign, it’s a celebration of community, generosity, and the power of eating together.

One Bite at a Time

Budget to Bite is about more than recipes or saving money. It’s about confidence, community, and compassion. Along the way, we’ll open up conversations about food hardship and explore how we can all play a part in making good food accessible to everyone.
