Welcome to Disability History Month 2025! This year, Disability History Month 2025 is led by your Disabled Students Community Officer (DSCO), JJ Littleton; Neurodivergent Society (NDS) and Student Leader, Claude Kumar. To join their communities, check out their profiles on the RHSU website.

The month will explore the national theme, Disability, Life and Death taking shape as both an awareness campaign but engaging in conversations with teams across the university to construct a lobbying agenda.

This campaign seeks to raise awareness through social media updates and informative posts spotlighting students and their experience being a student with a disability. To get involved in these social media posts, you can sign up by completing this form.

This year’s Disability History Month will also shed light on the persistent inequalities in lecture recording access, the impact of disability on student life, and accessibility in the library — all through a lobbying agenda led by JJ Littleton and Claude Kumar.

Throughout the month, events will be hosted by familiar student groups both on campus and along Egham High Street. We’ll also be taking to the stage for the return of the much-anticipated Disability Creativity Showcase at the Pride Hub, Egham, on Thursday 27 November from 6pm.

If you identify as a student, staff or local community member with a disability, you can sign up now to perform in the showcase by completing this form, and to find out more information, check out the event page. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Hub and celebrate Disability History Month in our local community.

Please feel free to reach out to JJ via Instagram or email if you would like to know more about the Showcase or getting involved in the student spotlight series.

For more information on how we are celebrating the month, please see the event calendar below and on RHSU socials. To learn more about national celebrations and what other organisations across the country are doing, visit the national Disability History Month webpage.

No matter how you celebrate it’s bound to be an enjoyable time, and we’re looking forward to celebrating the month with all students across campus and beyond!
