Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great term two! I honestly cannot believe that we are in February already. So this update is probably going to be a little shorter as for me I am focusing on the longevity of my projects and ensuring they continue after I am no longer a Sabb anymore ☹

More Financial Support:
Community Cupboards are still my pride and joy, so alongside continuing to ensure they are restocked, I am currently in the process of writing a paper to make sure the logistics are sorted for next year, including who will be responsible for restocking them. I also have a meeting with representatives from the SU Shop and the University to discuss the paper and ensure everything continues to be done in full collaboration.
The Cost of Living Survey results are now live and can be found here. I am now working with our Research and Insight Coordinator to review the recommendations and will be setting up a Cost of Living working group to ensure these recommendations are implemented.
Finally, I am working with Poppy Coates, Women Students’ Community Officer 24/25, to plan a period dignity campaign at the end of March to raise awareness about the free period products available on campus.
Improving Parking on the Egham Campus:
The Park and Ride is my main focus in relation to this priority. This includes ensuring students are aware of it and that any feedback is listened to.
So while we are here… DID YOU KNOW THERE IS A ROYAL HOLLOWAY PARK AND RIDE? This operates from Huntersdale car park and is completely free. All students and staff need to do is park their car and a bus arrives every 15 minutes at peak times and every 30 minutes throughout the rest of the day, Monday to Friday during term time. Students and staff can also claim a free hot drink for every three return journeys.
I have now joined a Parking Working Group with the University, local community and Council to ensure the student voice is at the forefront of discussions.
As I write this, I have a meeting next week with the University to look at further short term solutions they are considering, which I will be sharing with you soon. I am also continuing to ensure that long term solutions remain at the forefront of their discussions.
As always If anyone has any questions or any ideas for my Priority 8 please do not hesitate to get in contact with me either by email or pop me a message on Instagram.
