In our 2025 Rate Your Union survey, 66% of survey respondents agreed to an extent the statement, ‘I know how the Students’ Union works and how decisions are made.’ 87% of agreed to an extent with the statement, ‘I am kept well informed about what the Students’ Union does’. Both statements are part of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for our current strategy, Building Community, Leading Change. We have targets set to improve these scores for 2027, and that’s where you come in!
This research project is all about understanding how well the Students’ Union communicates with you. We want to find out what’s working, what’s not, and how we can make it easier for you to hear about SU decisions, events, activities and services while you’re at Royal Holloway. What we learn from this will help shape a new communication plan that ensures we’re keeping students informed and involved.

Your feedback plays a huge role not only in helping to improve your overall university experience but also in determining our wider decision-making as a Union, so make sure you tell it like it is and take the survey now!

There is a total of £425 worth of cash prizes to be won from this survey. That’s right! By participating in this survey, you could be in for a chance to win:
- Five £25 cash prizes
- Four £50 cash prizes
- And one lucky winner will get £100 cash prize after the survey closes!
To be eligible for a cash prize you need to complete the entire survey. We are asking for your student number to check student status and to email winners about the cash prize incentives while the survey is live. All answers will be anonymised before analysis.
We will be announcing the ten winners over the next two weeks while the survey is live. The sooner you complete the survey, the more chances you have to win a prize!

The survey will close at midnight on Sunday, 1 March. We will share the results with students on our website and Instagram account. We will also share the results with relevant Students’ Union stakeholders, and keep you updated on recommendations and any action plans around our communication strategy.
