Statement: Summer Ball 2021

Today we are in the unfortunate position where we have to announce that this year’s Summer Ball will not take place.

We’ve taken our time to assess all of our options to understand if an end-of-year celebration would be possible within the limits set out in the Roadmap out of Lockdown but it’s become clear that it just isn’t possible.

We know this is disappointing news and we’re sorry to be in this position for a second year. That said, there is some light at the end of the tunnel and we’ll be announcing our Summer Term events programme in the near future where you’ll have the chance to get back out to our venues for a proper catch-up with friends.

For those final year students, and for individuals from the 2020 cohort, we’re once again sticking to our commitment that you will be able to purchase a ticket to Summer Ball 2022 during a priority pre-sale period. If you’d like to be kept up-to-date on developments with regards to this, please sign up to our mailing list. We’ll only contact you through this list regarding Summer Ball and nothing else.

Summer Ball 2021 FAQs

When will Summer Ball 2022 take place?

We’re currently working towards Friday 3 June 2022 as the date for next year’s event, but won’t be able to announce the date for certain for a while.

Why is the event not just being postponed?

Delivering an event of this scale takes months of planning and preparation which is not possible at this moment in time. While the roadmap gives us hope that the pandemic within the UK is coming to an end, there currently isn’t the certainty needed for us to proceed.
