Summer Ball 2018 Early Bird Competition

To celebrate the launch of our early bird Summer Ball tickets, we're giving away seven chances for you guys to win a full refund on your Summer Ball ticket along with VIP upgrades for you and a mate! 

In case you needed a reminder of what the VIP package includes, it consists of backstage tickets (one for you and a mate) to the event including access to a green room bar where you'll enjoy hospitality and have the chance to brush shoulders with artists performing across the ball, fast track entry to the ball and more - worth well over £150.

So What Does This Involve?

Starting from 10am, we will be making a draw EVERY HOUR until 4pm (when online tickets go on sale) that gives anyone that buys a physical ticket from the SU a chance for a full refund and a VIP upgrade for themselves and a mate.

So that means you have seven chances to win VIP tickets for you and your mate. Remember, in order to be eligible for this competition, you need to have physically bought your Summer Ball ticket from our early bird launch in the SU building.

The sooner you bag a ticket on the day, the better, as you'll get yourself more entries into the competition. So if you manage to be one of the first people to buy a Summer Ball ticket (between 9-10am), you'll have seven chances to win the full refund and VIP upgrade for you and a plus one. Amazing right?

The winners will be announced via live-stream on our official Facebook page at the start of every hour (with the first draw commencing at 10am) so keep your eyes peeled in case you see your name pop up.

The competition is open to those who buy any priced ticket on Friday, including full priced tickets which will go on sale when the early bird tickets have sold out.

Just a reminder, if you really want to get your hands on the early bird tickets, you might have to consider emulating those who rocked up at 10pm the night before in previous years. Just make sure you bring something to keep you warm and dry!

Terms and Conditions

1. The Early Bird VIP Upgrade Competition (the "Prize Draw") is open to people attending Royal Holloway, University of London, who are verified members of Royal Holloway Students’ Union.
2. Permanent employees or agencies of Royal Holloway Students’ Union ("RHSU", "We"), or anyone else connected with the Prize Draw may not enter the Prize Draw.
3. Entrants into the Prize Draw shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions.
4. To enter the Prize Draw you must purchase a Summer Ball ticket in person from the Students' Union on 23 March 2018. From the time of purchase you will be entered into each subsequent draw that takes place. For example, if you purchased a ticket at 13:30, you would be entered into the 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00 draws. If you have any questions about how to enter or in connection with the Prize Draw, please e-mail us at marketing@su.rhul.ac.uk with "Early Bird VIP Upgrade Competition" in the subject line.
5. Only one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed.
6. RHSU accepts no responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected, incomplete, cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt by RHSU.
7. The closing date of the Prize Draw is 15:59 on 23 March 2018. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered.
8. Seven winners of the Prize Draw will be chosen from a random draw of entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. The draw will be performed by a random computer process. The draw will take place on 23 March 2018. The draw will be split into seven individual draws which will take place within a 15 minute slot at the following times: 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00.
9. The winner will receive the following prizes: One free entry to Summer Ball 2018, two VIP upgrades for the winner and a nominated friend, refund of the winner's individual Summer Ball 2018 ticket.
10. The winners need to notify RHSU of the name of their nominated friend by Tuesday 29 May by emailing venues@su.rhul.ac.uk.
11. RHSU accepts no responsibility for any costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize (including, without limitation, travel to and from locations).
12. The winners will be notified at 16:30 on 23 March 2018. If a winner rejects their prize or the entry is invalid or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the winner's prize will be forfeited and RHSU shall be entitled to select another winner.
13. The name of the winners can be obtained after 23 March 2018 by sending an email to marketing@su.rhul.ac.uk with "Early Bird VIP Upgrade Competition Winners" in the subject line.
14. The prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
15. RHSU retains the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize offered is not available.
16. The winner may be required to take part in promotional activity related to the Prize Draw and the winner shall participate in such activity on RHSU's reasonable request. The winner consents to the use by RHSU and its related companies, both before and after the closing date of the Prize Draw for an unlimited time, of the winner's voice, image, photograph and name for publicity purposes (in any medium, including still photographs and films, and on the internet, including any websites hosted by RHSU and its related companies) and in advertising, marketing or promotional material without additional compensation or prior notice and, in entering the Prize Draw, all entrants consent to the same.
17. RHSU accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liabilities, injury or disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of entering the Prize Draw or accepting the prize. RHSU further disclaims liability for any injury or damage to your or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation in or downloading any materials in connection with the Prize Draw. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude the liability of RHSU for death, personal injury, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation as a result of its negligence.
18. RHSU reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Prize Draw with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of RHSU in all matters under its control is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
19. RHSU shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
20. The Prize Draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
